Hi I'm Pat, or you can call me Pattycakes. I've been an muralist/canvas artist since my high school day. My inspiration to become a face painter started when my youngest (now age 16) ask me to face paint her when she was 3 yrs old. I only had acrylic and craft paints at that point and didn't want to use those latex/ammonia based paints. Her ongoing requests for face painting made me seek out my first little professional face paint palette at the closest retailer...in Ft. Lauderdale. I transformed my daughter, Charlotte, into a puppy, then later a kitty cat. The moment I saw her mirror revealing reflection, that was a "A-ha" moment -I found a new life passion- my new addiction was born. I couldn't put my brushes down! I needed to learn more about this craft beyond YouTube.
The sales woman who sold me my first kit inspired me to attend the Face & Body Art International Conventions (FABAIC) in Weston, Fl. the following month. I didn't know it then but later found out that she was Mama Clown- the matriarch of face painting in the USA. I dropped by FABAIC for a day pass and learned amazing art from many famous international instructors in the field.
I've attended many FABAICs over the years-to keep up with industry best practices & standards, and to learn from the best of the best. I've submitted online 365+ consecutively days of daily paintings during Covid 2020 (via an international FP group) for practice and a way to keep my craft going when I was out of business for over a year.
My hobby turned into a business and can be found at birthday parties and large festivals & events throughout Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River County area.
As an art instructor, I also host workshops via group paint parties @ art centers, nursing homes, bars, church groups, restaurants, stores, parks and rec rooms and public library.
I'm blessed to have a profession that I absolutely love! Art is Life!
